Organise a coffee morning for Friday 26 September with your friends, colleagues and customers and help Kleeneze and Macmillan Cancer Support change the lives of people affected by cancer.

The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is one of the largest single fundraising events in the UK. Last year, over £7.5 million was raised from 44,000 coffee mornings, to help people affected by cancer. This year, their target is £8.5 million and together with Kleeneze Head Office, we want to raise a Kleeneze Anniversary £85,000.

TIPS FOR SUCCESS

Not only is this an ideal event for you to do your part for charity, it’s also a brilliant chance to get your team together and invite potential Distributors to share in the fun! It’s also an opportunity to gain some media coverage in your area, boost your profile and create some leads.
Think carefully about the event before you start and put an action plan together. Consider where it is to be held (workplace, school, local halls, community centres, sports centres), how long you wish it to run for and who can help you on the day
Who you are going to invite (friends, family, colleagues, friends of friends)
Advertise your event anywhere and everywhere you can
Create posters and invitations-Macmillan has fantastic resources on their Be Macmillan website (www.be.macmillan.org.uk)
Link up with local coffee shops, take cakes etc and ask if they will sell on your behalf
Think about if your story has a PR angle – have you or someone close to you been touched by cancer or used MacMillan?
Invite local councillors / celebrities to any events that are hosted
Take coffee and cakes out when you catalogue and see if you can encourage customers to buy for a good cause
Visit local building sites and take coffee and cake and charge them for the privilege!

Xmas Kleeneze Conference

Thank you to everyone who fought through torrential rain and flooding to attend the 2008 Christmas Showcase.

What an amazing day it was – your combined energy and excitement made it one of our greatest events yet, but it’s only just started. Saturday kick-started what promises to be our most successful retail period and could see your life change forever.

All of the speaker presentations are currently being edited before we upload to the DSA and will be available in full later this week. Kleeneze Conference 2008

 

“What a fabulous time we all had! In Phuket we swam
with baby elephants, played on the beach and ate lots of
wonderful food.

Then, just as we all thought that could not be beaten,
we arrived in Bangkok. The Oriental is more luxurious
than I could have imagined with staff to call the lift,
butlers and maid service at least twice per day. We
were brought towels and iced water the minute we
arrived at the pool – nothing was too much trouble
for the staff. I would like to thank Kleeneze for
choosing such a wonderful destination. They went
to so much effort to ensure our time was great.”

Its a Family Affair

“My introduction to kleeneze was all a bit bizarre really. I was originally a prison officer andintroduced my brother, Mike, into the prison service. Then, later, he returned the favour by introducing me to kleeneze (Mike and his wife Amanda are now Silver Premier Executives). I somehow think I had the better deal!
Mike was in kleeneze for a month before I joined. I already had experience with Network Marketing and knew cataloguing worked – just not to what extent. When Mike introduced me to the business, I went into it for the conventional reasons. I needed £50 extra to keep repairs up on my old camper van! I thought, that will be enough and didn’t think of taking it any further.

I was advised from day one to go to the meetings, so obediently off I went. At that first meeting there were people from all walks of life, and many of them were going up to the front for recognition. I didn’t quite understand what was happening at that point, but I did understand that they were earning in excess of £1,000 a month. It was then that I decided it was time to plunge myself into this business. I just decided I would never have a catalogue in the house – they would always be with the customers. Rosie and I joined in the October and by March, we had earned enough to go on a family holiday to EuroDisney. All those years we couldn’t take the kids, because we couldn’t afford it – we both cried on the way there, because they were so excited. That was really the way I got Rosie on board – she could see the benefits of the business then. At that moment, we both fell out of love with our jobs and in love with kleeneze. We decided to set a target of becoming Bronze Executive before we gave up work, but by doing so we inadvertently qualified to Malaysia!

Money’s never been an issue for me – it’s the lifestyle and what I call the fringe benefits that are important. Because of kleeneze, I was able to take my daughter to school and then pick her up in the afternoon. If there were any school trips, she could always volunteer me to go on them. If one of the kids was ever ill and had to be picked up from school, we could just drop everything and go.

I’ve often said if I ever won the lottery, I would not quit kleeneze. I would use some of the money to help my team achieve their goals and dreams. We have an incredible life. I’ve been able to help people with financial difficulties, who are worried about losing their homes etc. We’re not special people, but we have an awesome gift.”

Doom, gloom and more doom.

That’s pretty much what every financial section in every paper and on every website is screaming at the moment. Thanks to the credit crunch, headlines now cry Rise in UK firms forced to close (BBC News, 7 April 2008), Credit crunch’could last years’ (The Guardian, 11 March 2008) and Loan sharks circle in the credit crunch (The Times, 30 March, 2008).

And the news gets worse day by day, with banks hoarding their cash and becoming much choosier about who they lend to.These past few weeks have possibly been some of the worst for home-buyers and home owners alike, as the news filtered through that First Direct had announced it was closing its doors to new customers. It was swiftly followed by reports that the last 100% mortgage on offer has been scrapped, as Abbey took its loan off the market after similar decisions by its rivals.

And it’s not just those looking to buy who may have their plans scuppered. Millions of borrowers in the UK are looking at a marketplace that has closed for business as opposed to the norm of being swamped with offers of credit. This has left a huge amount of people scrabbling around to find an affordable deal and struggling to pay theirmonthly bill.

To make matters even worse, the International Monetary Fund has issued research to suggest that residential property in the UK is overvalued by as much as 30% meaning the collapse of house prices are imminent. Leading lender, Nationwide has reported approvals for new mortgages are down 40% on a year ago

Research suggests the average rate on a two-year-fixed rate mortgage has risen from 6.15% to 6.29% over the last two weeks

Home repossessions could soar to more that 60,000 this year as families struggle to cope with rising mortgage payments

The average house price is now around nine times average earnings, up from around four-and-a-half times 10 years ago

Analysis of government data has suggested that families at risk of repossession are now spending over 75% of their disposable income on mortgage payments (all the families affected had disposable incomes of £1,000 or less and mortgage payments up to £750.)
